By:

Finn Winters as Ben

Justin Li as Alex

Ava Jones as Izzy

Cadence Hays as Sara

Jazmin Hernandez as Jen

Summary

In a small rundown town, three lifelong friends are moving away. Not by choice but because their town has fallen into down times. But when some historic artifacts are found, can the girls convince the townspeople in time before the artifacts fall into the wrong hands. Will the lifelong friends help the small town solve their big problem or will the town and their friendship be gone forever?

Scene 1

(Sitting on couch)

Sara: Why do we have to move?

Mom: It’s complicated.

Sara: I still don`t understand. I been in Rocky Creek my whole life. I don`t want to move!

Mom: I know, sweety. None of us want to move. We just have to.

Sara: Can’t Dad just help build more houses here so we can stay?

Mom: I’m sorry, Sara. Our town isn’t a booming town anymore. No one wants to move here. There’s nothing exciting to attract families to our area.

Sara: But…Mom..(knock on door)

Mom: I’ll get it. Hi girls! Sara is in the living room. You might want to say bye because  we’re moving this weekend.

Jen:I cant believe you’re actually moving.

Izzy: I’m moving to the city in a week. My dad says there are more jobs there.

Sara:  Wait, you guys realize this will be our fist summer apart, right?

Jen: Yeah, sad. Lets go to the treehouse one last time.

Sara: Guys, the treehouse burned down last night.

Jen/Sara: WHAT?!?!

Sara: April Fools!

Izzy: What???!!!

Jen: Not cool, Sara!

Sara: You know what is not an April Fool’s joke? Me winning this race to the treehouse! (Sara takes off. Friends run behind her)

(entering in the woods)

Izzy: Come on slow poke.

(suddenly stops)

Jen: Guys wait, what is the point of finishing the treehouse? We are all moving away.

Sara: We have 3 weeks till summer, you never know. I still believe that our town will make it.

Jen and Izzy: April Fools!

Sara: Not joking here. This town will make it. It’s too important to us.

Izzy: You know what’s really important to me, guys?

Sara and Jen: What??

Izzy: Winning the second race! See ya wouldn’t want to be ya!!!

Sara: Hey! That’s cheating!

Izzy: I’m almost there!! I’m about to wi…..

(Izzy trips on something)

Izzy: ouch, what was that!

Sara and Jen: What was what?

Izzy: Wow!!!

Izzy: Look at what I found. There is a necklace, a multicolored gem, and all kinds of strange artifacts.

Sara: Wow! They look so old.

Jen: Yeah, those look like they might be worth something.

Sara: Wait, we might be able to save the town with this stuff.

Jen: This has to be an April Fools joke. This old junk will save our town?

Izzy: Sara, we all want to save this place. No one wants to leave. But this old junk isn’t going to save us. It will probably give us some old strange disease.

Sara: Can we at least just check? I mean…what could it hurt.

Jen: Where do we get old junk checked? Google? eBay?

Sara:The museum!

Scene 2

Ben: (talking with evil happy voice) three weeks…. three weeks…… three weeks……. three weeks

Alex: Why are you saying three weeks?

Ben: Why do you think? In three weeks, we turn this dump of a town into a real dump

Alex: We got all the signatures? Everyone’s leaving?

Ben: Yeah, this town is in such bad shape that these people are bumping into each other to get out of here.

Alex: Hopefully, no one bumps into our artifacts on their way out.

Ben: No way! Ain’t nobody going to find those artifacts. We hide them so well.

Alex: Ok, let’s go get em.

(walking to the artifacts)

Ben: Hey Alex, where exactly did you hide them?

Alex: Over here but there not here!

Ben: WHAT!?!?!?

Alex: I’m 100 percent sure that they were here!

Ben: Well, I’m 100 percent sure they’re not here!

Alex: Wait look at these footprints….. they lead up there! { look at the girls} Those girls have the artifacts!

Ben: Well, let’s go get those little pests.

(Girls  walk into museum and head towards owner)

Jen: Miss, we found this stuff. Can`t you do something with it?

Museum owner: Ha, ha nice April fool’s joke. Let me guess….got those from the gift shop.

Girls: No, they’re real!!!!!

Museum Owner: Girls, let me get this straight. You have found the missing artifacts that proves our town’s historical importance. (laughs)

{Girls look confused and decide to leave museum}

Izzy: Since the museum doesn’t believe us, maybe we should go to my house and show my dad. He is the sheriff.

Sara: No, he might just give it away. Let’s go home and google it.

Jen: ok.

{ walk to house}

{ sitting on the deck looking at the artifacts}

Jen: The lady was right. There are tons of these fake artifacts on sale.

Izzy: Well, we tried.

Sara: No, they have to be real. Let me see. Look the fakes all say made in China at the bottom. { looks at friends}

Sara: Well. Look.

{ Izzy and Jen look at the bottom} { eyes wide open, look up}

Alex: We got to find those girls.

Ben: Duh, without those artifacts this whole project is ruined!

Alex: Think…think…where do girls hangout after finding artifacts.

Ben: Well, the only place left standing is downtown, and we are here so let’s start looking.

Alex: Sure. Oh, look, there’s a girl. Hey girl! Come here!

Extra Girl: Ewww, I don’t know you. (runs off)

Alex: Hey girl. What’s in the bag? Let me see.

Extra Girl: Stop! What are you doing? Get away or I’ll call the cops!

Ben: Stop, Alex. You are doing it wrong. Watch me. How about you? You got any artifacts?

girl: Get off!

Alex: Ben, your scaring then away too.

Ben: Well, it’s not like they’re going to walk right in front  of us with artifacts.

Alex: Well, who are they?  {looking at girls walking out of museum}

Ben: Let’s follow them.

Alex: Ok, but we have to be quiet.

Scene 4

Dad: Hey Izzy. Welcome home. Why aren’t you packed? Hello Sara and Jen. Good to see you girls before the move.

Izzy: Dad! You have to take a look at these artifacts. This could save our town!

Sara: Please! This could prove our town’s historical importance.

Jen: If these are real, no one will have to move.

Dad: (not convinced) Let me look. Nice. I have some of these upstairs in my office.

Izzy: Dad! Look at the bottom. There’s no “made in China”.

Dad: (a little convinced but shakes it off) Cool, so it was made in Russia. Go pack Izzy. (walks out)

(bad guys walk up to their house)

Alex: Wait. Look at the car.

Ben: (doesn’t notice)

Alex: It’s a cop’s car. We can’t just walk in. We have to make a plan

{ go somewhere and make a plan}

{ come back later}

Alex: I’ll get the front you get the back.

Ben: OK.

{ ring the doorbell}

Alex: Hello, are you moving?

Sara: Yes, why do you want to know?

Alex: We are antique inspectors. We go around to people who are moving, and ask if they would like to sale any old antiques. Do you have any?

Sara: Sorry. No antiques. Just a bunch of old stuff.(starts to close door but sticks foot in)

Ben: Oh, so sorry. My foot got stuck. So…no old museum items or historic items that you would like for us to look at? You know we can tell if things are valuable or not.

Sara: Well…Jen, Izzy, bring the stuff from the woods to the front door.

Jen and Izzy: Here. Who are these dudes?

( door breaks)

Ben: Got em. Let’s roll.

Izzy: What just happened! Dad! We’ve been rob!

Ben: Hurry! Their cop dad will be out any minute!

Alex: Back to the warehouse.

Ben: Ok.

Ben: Faster! He’ll be out any minute.

Alex: I’m running as fast as I can. Here you hold one of the artifacts!

Ben: Woah, be careful throwing around our loot.

Alex: Where do I go?

Ben: Head to the woods. We’ll loose them in there. Wait until night and head back to the warehouse.

Alex: Good plan.

(Back to the Girls)

Sara: No. No. No.hey go the artifacts, what do we do??????

Izzy’s Dad: Don’t worry guys. I’ll find them. Sorry I didn’t believe you girls. Stay here and pack.

All Girls: Thank you.

Sara: Well, looks like they are real.

Jen: Guess we have done our part.

Izzy: We are not just going to sit here while those no good thieves still our town’s precious artifacts.

Sara: You’re right! You girls ready to race? 3..2..1..

Scene 5

Sara: Where do we start?

Izzy: They could be anywhere.

Jen: Hold on. Let me send out a group text. Asking if anyone has seen two guys acting weird. You know running or asking strange questions.

(Gets text back)

Jen: Hey, Claire just said that there were some creepy guys grabbing their shopping bags today downtown! Hold on, Rebecca just sent me this pic of the two guys running into the old furniture warehouse.

Sara: Let’s go!

Izzy: Texting my dad to let him know too.

(Warehouse)

Alex: Is this a good hiding place?

Ben: Yeah. Let’s leave them in there until all of this blows over.

Sara: (whispers) Hey, look there they are.

Izzy: They put them in that corner under the boxes.

Jen: They’re leaving. Let’s go.

(Walks over and grabs artifacts)

Alex: Wait…I’ve got a better hiding place.

Ben: Better than the woods I hope.

(Turns around and sees the girls)

Ben: Hey! They’re back!

Alex: Grab them!

(Ben and Alex grab the girls.

Ben: Pretty dumb coming back here.

Alex: Yeah, what did you think you girls were going to do. Save your town?

Ben: Yeah, I can just see it now on the news. Local girls save Rocky Creek by finding historical artifacts. (Laughs)

Sara: Fine! Take the artifacts! They aren’t worth anything anyways.

(Jen and Izzy look confused)

Ben: Foolish girl. These artifacts prove this town’s historical importance. They’re worth millions. Also, if your town proved its historical importance, then we would not be able to turn it into a dump.

Alex: Yeah, looks like you girls could have save the town. (laughs)

Sara: I don’t care! Let our town crash. As long as I have these two friends, I’ll move anywhere!

Jen and Izzy: Yeah we agree!

Ben: Isn’t this sweet.

Alex: Yeah too bad it won’t last much longer. By the time anybody finds you, the town will be a complete dump. (Laughs)

Cop: Freeze! Put your hands up, and they stay there!

Ben: What do you mean, we didn`t do anything. We are just antique dealers. We were trying to help these girls.

Cop: I might have believed you, but I’ve been standing here for the last 5 minutes and heard the whole thing. Nice job, Sara. Getting them to explain their plan.

Alex: What? You heard?

Cop: Yes, and I recorded it. Girls, grab the artifacts and take them to the museum. I’ll run these guys to the local jail and meet you there in an hour.

Girls: Yes, sir!

Cop: Now go! You have a town to save!

(two months later on screen)

News on tv: It was just two months ago when three local girls stumbled upon the greatest historical find in the history of Rocky Creek. Now two months later, a once rundown ghost town is a booming historical site. New jobs. New neighborhoods. New visitors. It’s looks like ole Rocky Creek is back in business. Thank you girls!

Jen: Still can`t believe it got the town started again.

Sara: Yeah, who knew they were worth millions, and good news I’m not moving.

Jen:  Great!

Izzy: Me too, I’m not moving.

Jen: Did you mean what you said back in the warehouse?

Sara: Mean what?

Izzy: You know. It didn’t matter where you moved. We would still be best friends.

Jen: Yeah, or were you just trying to get the thieves to give up their plot.

Sara: I meant every word. You guys are the best friends anyone could have no matter where I am!

Izzy and Jen: Awww. (Hug)

Sara: You know what else?

Jen and Izzy: What?

Sara: I also really love…beating you in a race to the treehouse. See ya!

Jen and Izzy: Hey! Not fair!
